Things I get asked a lot

Things I get asked a lot about weddings, what I do and what you get.

Everything you should need to know is below, but if you have any other questions then please pop me an email.

What is the booking process?

Once you’ve filled out my enquiry form, you’ll receive an email shortly after with a detailed questionnaire. Please complete this as soon as possible so I can learn more about your wedding plans.

After receiving your questionnaire I will confirm my availability for your wedding date, let you know any additional travel or accommodation costs and arrange a zoom meeting to chat with you about your plans in more detail.

I do not book any weddings without first meeting you—this is non-negotiable. Building a strong connection is so important, as I’ll be by your side throughout your wedding day. Making sure we’re the perfect fit ensures a relaxed, enjoyable experience for us both.

After our Zoom call, I will hold your wedding date for one week. During this time, you can confirm if you’d like to go ahead with the booking.

If I don’t hear back from you within that week, your date will be released and made available to other couples. If you decide later that you’d still like to book, just get in touch and I’ll happily check availability again.

If you’re ready to secure your date, I’ll send over:

- A personalised quote for your wedding photography

- A booking questionnaire

- Your contract to sign

- An invoice with payment details for your booking fee

Once these are completed, your wedding date will be officially secured in my diary. The entire booking process is quick and simple, taking no more than 5 minutes to complete online. Once everything is finalised, you’ll receive confirmation that you're officially booked in… whoop whoop!

What is the cost of the booking fee to secure our date?

The booking fee to secure your date with me for THE STORY & THE FULL STORY is £400, this cost will be deducted from your final payment which is due 28 days before your wedding day. You are welcome to pay the remainder in instalments as long as this is agreed beforehand. For THE SHORT STORY bookings, the booking fee is £100, however if additional hours are added on, the booking fee may increase, again same payment deadline. The price of the booking fee covers the cost of all emails, phone calls, zoom calls, pre-wedding meetings, pre-wedding shoots, bookings forms, contracts and all other work completed ahead of your wedding day. Please note that the booking fee is non-refundable in the case of cancellation.

What happens after we book?

Once you’ve booked and received confirmation from me, you’ll be sent my Wedding Guide PDF—packed with helpful tips, ideas, and advice to support you while planning your big day.

From this point, things will be fairly quiet for a while. There’s very little I need from you until closer to your wedding date, so you can focus on enjoying your engagement and planning your day.

If your package includes a pre-wedding shoot, I’ll be in touch to arrange a suitable date and location. This is a great opportunity for us to get to know each other, get used to the camera and help you feel relaxed in-front of the camera ahead of your wedding day.

Around 3 months before your wedding, I’ll get back in touch and send you a detailed questionnaire. This will gather all the important information I need, including your timings for the day, group photos you'd like, details that matter most to you and important moments. This helps me carefully plan my time, ensure everything runs smoothly, and understand your vision for the day. Once you’ve completed and returned the questionnaire, we’ll arrange another Zoom meeting to go through everything together. This is your chance to ask any questions, and I’ll also make sure I have everything I need to capture your wedding perfectly.

At any point during your wedding journey, please feel free to get in touch. Whether you need supplier recommendations, advice, or just a bit of guidance, I’m always here to help. I regularly check my emails, so you can reach out at anytime.

How far will you travel?

Anywhere! Everywhere! Wherever you want me, I'll go. I love to travel to new places and thoroughly enjoy having a singalong in the

car during my journey!

Travel costs are included in 'THE STORY',  'THE FULL STORY' & 'THE SHORT STORY' packages up to 75 miles, any milage over this will be calculated and charged at 50ppm. On travel 2 hours or more,  accommodation the night before and after may be required. I charge a fixed fee of £200 to cover this cost, however if you can put me up in your venue for two nights this cost won't be required.

On the day...

On the day of your wedding I will turn up at my agreed start time, which unless you have asked for no getting ready coverage, will be 2-3 hours before your ceremony. This amount of time may seem excessive to you, but I promise you, it's needed. There is always loads happening in the morning and lots for me to capture, details, venue shots, getting ready, reveals, portraits and not forgetting all the wonderful candids in-between. It is also the time that I get a vibe for the day, how you're feeling and what I can best do to make everything as stress free and enjoyable for you. Then during the day I'm floating around and capturing everything that's happening, all natural and candid and capturing things happen as they happen, until it's time for group photos (if you're having them). This is the only part of the day that I have to be in charge and take control, to make sure we get the shots you want in as little time as possible. Working off the list you have provided me with (in your pre-wedding questionnaire) I'll make sure we get it done. Couples photos are again, very natural, just capturing you being yourselves, lots of wandering around and movement with some light guidance. And then I'm back to capturing what happens naturally for the rest of the day until my finish time roughly 30 minutes after your first dance/when I feel like I've got everything I need to great you a banging gallery/film.

On the day of your wedding, I’ll arrive at our agreed start time, typically 2–3 hours before your ceremony (unless you’ve chosen to skip getting ready coverage).

This might sound like a lot of time, but trust me—it’s absolutely needed. Mornings are always full of energy and excitement, with so much happening that deserves to be captured. During this time, I’ll photograph:

- Prep and getting ready moments

- Venue and detail shots

- First looks and special reveals

- Natural, candid moments with your closest people

It’s also when I get a feel for the atmosphere of your day, how you’re feeling and how I can best support you to keep everything relaxed, stress-free, and enjoyable.

For most of your wedding day, I’ll be blending into the background, capturing the real moments as they happen. My style is all about natural, candid wedding photography, documenting genuine emotions and interactions without interrupting the flow of your day. If you’ve chosen to have group photos, this is the one part of the day where I’ll take a bit more control. Using the list you’ve provided me in your pre-wedding questionnaire, I’ll organise everything efficiently so we can get all the photos you want in as little time and as smoothly as possible, leaving you more time to enjoy your day. Your couples portraits will be natural and relaxed, no awkward posing here! I’ll gently guide you while you walk, chat, and just be yourselves, creating beautiful, authentic images that reflect your connection and capture your personality. As the day continues, I’ll return to capturing everything naturally, from the laughter and candid moments to the energy of your evening celebrations. I’ll typically stay until around 30 minutes after your first dance, or until I’m confident I’ve captured everything needed to create an incredible final gallery and/or film for you.

What equipment do you use?

I get asked this every so often... I'm not sure why, but I use:

Nikon Z6iiis (I have 3 but typically only use 2 unless I'm filming)

Sigma art lenses (24mm, 35mm, 50mm, 85mm & occasionally 24-70mm)

DJI Mavic Air Drone

Sony TX660 audio recorders

MacBook Air, iMac Pro & a tonne of hard drives & SD cards

What are your favourite venues you've worked at?

A few of my faves are The Tithe Barn, Aswarby Rectory, Hazel Gap Barn, Hodsock Priory, Camp Katur (woodland ceremony LOVE!), Loversall Farm, The Pumping House, Merewood Country House, Saltmarshe Hall, The Old Vicarage Boutique and Burythorpe House... just to name a few! I love all of these venues & many more, plus I absolutely love visiting new venues too and fining new favourites to add to the list!

Will we receive watermarked images & what usage do we have?

I never send out watermarked images to my couples, so don't worry about this. You also receive printing rights to print out your images and share them online. But please note that I retain the copyright. All this means is you aren't allowed to modify them by re-editing over them or changing them, however this does not apply to resizing for printing etc. If you decide you'd like to send them to magazines, blogs etc, all I ask is that you please ensure that they credit me, by either stating my instagram handle or website address.

Are you insured?

Absolutely! I'm insured through HISCOX with public liability to £2,000,000 and professional indemnity to £250,000. If you venue require a copy of my insurance certificate before the day, please let me know and I'd be happy to send this across.

What I'm like...

I will be the bridesmaid you never asked for, the cheerleader hyping you up telling you how incredible you look. I'll be that auntie who always carries a sewing kit and scissors 'just incase', I'll be the dress zipper upper, shoe putter oner, hair fixer, lippy carrier, phone holder, drink getter, a calm reassuring presence... I will be anything and everything you need. The number of wedding dresses I've sew people into or back together cannot be counted haha. I'll make friends with your family, laugh with your wedding party, joke with your guests... this is more than a job to me, I put my absolute all into your day to help make it the best experience for you and all your loved ones.

How long will our photos & film take to be delivered?

Within 16 weeks of your wedding date. I have a slightly longer delivery time than others may have purely to allow me flexibility during busy periods like in the summer and before Christmas. I will always aim to deliver my galleries and films in a much shorter timeframe than this if I am able, without compromising on quality. If you have a USB print pack included in your package, this will be posted out to you as soon as possible upon the delivery of your full gallery/film.

How will we receive our photos & film, and do we have to wait for

the full lot to be delivered before we see any?

All my photos and films are delivered to you online via your own personalised gallery. The gallery will have all your photos in, split into useful sections, alongside your film if you have one. I always deliver a version of your film with any audio I've used from your day included, as well as one without, and a link to download any additional audio I recorded on the day that I think you may enjoy listening back to.

Within a few days of your wedding, you will receive your online gallery with some sneak peek images in, I will never make you wait for the full gallery to be finished. These are a small selection of images, up to 80, a few from each part of the day. If you have a film too, you will receive a 1 + minute teaser within 2 weeks of your wedding.

Can I add extra hours onto my package?

Yes! Hours can be added on to any package at £200p/h for photos or £250p/h for photo & film. Please note, I never have my second shooters stay for extra hours, so if you want more coverage it will just be me. If you ask me to stay longer on the day of the wedding to capture more of the wedding, please note I may not always accept the extra hours, as I may have a long journey home or another wedding the day after, so letting me know in advance is always advised.

When would you recommend having a second photographer and

who will they be?

If you are having a wedding of 80+ then having a second photographer is absolutely recommended. Even if you are having a smaller wedding but have lots planned throughout the day where I will be needed multiple places at once, then adding on a second photographer is a good idea so that everything you want is captured if I'm not available at that moment. I may be off taking some family photos for you and something may be happening during the drinks reception that would be lovely to capture, so having a second photographer means we can capture everything.

I always bring along a second photographer that I know, love their work and have a similar natural shooting style to me so that our images blend in nicely together and you would never know who took which images.

What if we require changes/amendments to our photos or film?

That's fine! But you'll need to let me know within 2 weeks of receiving it and the amendments being made will be done when I next have time, as once a gallery or film is delivered I'm straight onto the next thing and cannot go back to completed work until I'm up to date. If your alterations require a whole re-edit, then there will be charges involved, as that's days of additional work for me. If you're just wanting a couple b&w or changing from b&w to colour, the crop altering or a clip taking out your film, then that's not a problem at all and is definitely something I can sort for you, but again it will be added to my list and not done right away. For editing out or manipulation of images such as group photos, this will most likely require me getting an editor involved, which will come at a cost to you.

If we have you for both photo and film with a second photographer, will they

shoot hybrid like you?

Not usually, the second photographer will shoot only photos, while I do both. If you would like the second photographer to shoot both, then please let me know upon booking, I may be able to arrange it if you give me plenty of notice and I will get you a price. But if I'm honest, it's not necessary unless you are having a HUGE wedding. My films are highlights, so really only need one person covering the video side.

How do you shoot both photo & film at the same time?

During the day I shoot both photo and film on the two cameras I have on me at all times, switching constantly between the two settings capturing photos and 10 second video clips. During your ceremony I have a third camera on a tripod with me at the front of the room, capturing what I can't on video while I'm capturing photos. This is perfect for capturing your isle walks and first kiss, which are both things that are tricky to capture photo & video of at the same time if I weren't to have the additional camera. Shooting hybrid is lots of multitasking... but it works, and I'm able to create some lovely films full of special moments from your day!

You have a drone!

Yes, yes I do! And I absolutely love flying it. I will always try and get some photos and or footage with my drone on weddings days, when the time and weather are suitable. If drone footage is really important to you (of course it can't always be guaranteed due to the British weather) then please do check with your venue that they allow drones to be taken off from their ground, some venues have it in their contract with you that they aren't. I don't want you to be disappointed if on the day I find out it's not allowed... this has happened once or twice and it's a real shame. Please be aware that I cannot fly in wind or rain, so again if drone stuff is important to you, take the time of year and location into consideration before booking your date.

Will our images and film be edited in the same style and colours as the work

on your social media and website?

Yes! All my images are edited in the same style, I never edit differently. Some images may look brighter than others, this is due to the weather and lighting on the day. If the weather is gloomy then your images will be duller, if it's sunny then your images will be brighter. If you do not like my editing style, please don't book me. Editing is such as massive part of what I do, so please make sure you love my editing style before making any commitments. Please also note that I don't ever provide RAW images, they are not a good representation of my work as the editing of my images is half of my style. All my films are edited the same way, the colours, brightness etc will be the same but the actual way that I've built it and ordered the clips varies from film to film, it depends of the style of your wedding, the run of your day and again, the weather.

Can we send some inspirational images for you to recreate?

Of course. I'm happy for you to send me over some inspirational images that you'd like to try on your day. If they suit my style then I'm happy to try them with you, but please note that I never copy another photographers image, this means I will put my own twist on it and make it unique, not just a copy of theirs.

Do we need to feed you?

Yes please! If you can provide me with a meal, it would be really appreciated. I don't need a full wedding breakfast, just a supplier meal or bar tab would be perfect. It saves me having to go out and find somewhere to eat while you are in for you meal or have to eat a sandwich that's been sitting in a warm car all day. It also means I'll not miss anything if I can't get back to the venue in time for speeches etc. Please note, I'm a veggie.

Can you help us find our other suppliers?

Of course! When we have our initial zoom meeting I usually ask at that point if there are any suppliers you need help with finding. I know absolutely LOADS of people and am more than happy to send some names your way, whether they are for food, entertainment, flowers etc, just let me know and I'll help you out! I love recommending my wedding industry friends because it means we get to work together more often and create magic!

Do you offer discounts?

I no longer offer discounts. I have done in the past, but since I have this amazing business as my full time job and not just a hobby, it is no longer feasible for me to do so. My packages are the price they are for a reason, due to insurance costs, expensive equipment, editing software, backup software and more, plus the long hours of work I put in. I also have a mortgage to pay and food to put on the table, which ain't cheap in the current climate. Your wedding photography is an investment, so before deciding if you'd like to book, please look around and make sure you are 100% sure you are happy with your choice.

What is your ill heath/cancellation plan?

Ill Heath

If I am unwell/hospitalised within a week of your wedding and not in a fit state to capture your day, I will be in contact with you and let you know that I will be sending an associate photographer to capture your day on my behalf. If I become seriously ill in the months leading up to your wedding, then I will be in touch to work out a plan with you.

Postponements & Cancellations

If you need to postpone your date I'm happy to move your date over for free once, provided the new date is in the same calendar year. If the date is in a different year, there will be a postponement fee of £100 or the amount to make the package price up to my current pricing. Before postponing, please contact me so that I can send you my availability. If you do not contact me before booking a new date and I am not available for said date, your booking will be taken as a cancellation and your booking fee forfeited unless other arrangements are agreed, such as the arrangement of an associate photographer to work on my behalf.

If you cancel your booking within 14 days of paying the booking fee, the payment will be returned to you. If you cancel less than 100 days after the payment has been made, the booking fee is non-refundable and a £250 cancellation fee is due immediately, this is to cover the loss of work, as there's a big chance I will not be able to fill the date with any other work and will therefor lose out. If you cancel 28 days or less before the booking, 100% of the payment yet to be made is due immediately. If there are extenuating circumstances that have been the cause of your late cancellation (less than 28 days), the remaining balance my not be due, but this is down to me to decide. â€‹â€‹â€‹

Any other questions?

"From the very first zoom call, to the last photo on our wedding day Hannah has been incredible. Not only is her work amazing, but her professionalism, character and personality shines through in all of her work. We booked Hannah as our photographer/videographer for our wedding day and also had a pre-wedding shoot included! She was amazing and put us at ease immediately. When it came to our wedding day, she was a shining light even though the weather wasn't great. If we could do it all over again, Hannah would be one of our first calls.
Thank you for creating photos and videos that we will cherish for the rest of our lives."
